I love recruitment and the opportunity it provides to make a difference. Following on from a degree in business management I started a career in the recruitment industry, building up to running a very successful region for one of the largest industrial recruitment providers. After eight years I had grown the region to £20m turnover from 11 profit centres and decided to move into heading up a recruitment and training business in the healthcare sector and then an online recruitment and marketing business.
Coming from initially a volume recruitment background, I really enjoy a volume challenge, such as the end of 2016 where I needed to recruit and mobilise a team of 100 professionals in a specific sector in 9 working days. It’s a great story I can share if you need lots of people in a short time frame!
I fill my time away from work with my family, playing live music in a rockabilly band and giving back a little as a school governor.
I have been in the recruitment and people development industry for just over 8 years and I get a real buzz in helping others achieve life goals! I am a recruitment expert with experience of recruiting all levels of seniority across most industries in the UK and overseas. I love working on a really difficult brief; like finding someone to sell road services in Spain (true story; ask me about it)!
FYI- I love to talk (and can talk very loud at times!), I love to drink coffee (black, no sugar) and I have a memory like an elephant (so my friends and family say!). Hobbies include- Football, football, football!
A career spanning over 25 years, it was only after 22 years did I venture into the world of recruitment. Having experienced working for large multi-national businesses and as a Director of an award winning regional UK business, I am able to offer clients a different view from a typical recruitment consultant.
My favourite placement so far has been source and facilitate finding the senior leaders for one of ourclients opening a new location in China and providing the end-to-end service in helping them to relocate. That was a great big headache of a process that finished with a great outcome, and one to be very proud of.
I’m a passionate gardener, and love spending time at my allotment with my young daughter. I know nothing about football (or so I’m told)!
I’m the youngest member of the team, and the companies man in London. I joined Recruitment Agenda in 2014 following the completion of my apprenticeship as I wanted to take my learning and sales ability into a company and role where I could continue to learn but to also make a difference.
Three years on and I’ve found my niche developing business in London and the Home Counties focussing on mid and senior leadership roles for organisations from SME level upto multinationals.
My career within the Recruitment world began back in 2012 where I started as a Recruitment Administrator to a busy team. After getting a taste for the Industry I progressed to thrive as a Recruitment Consultant and worked my way up to Senior Management level. Recruitment for me isn’t just a job it’s a way of life and after five years of dedicating myself to this world there is not a sector I haven’t covered. I enjoy the diversity of recruitment and the limits are endless.
Outside of work I love listening to live bands down my local pub with my partner, but I do have a very interesting story to tell. I absolutely love to Dance and I was in the live Final of Britain’s Got Talent final 2014 as The Addict Initiative (Not bragging, well maybe a little). Ring me, I’ll tell you all about it!
Jo is a seasoned and energetic recruitment account manager and has worked in the industry for close to 20 years. Having learnt her trade in the UK, she moved to Australia on a working holiday and worked for one of the most recognised recruitment agencies who quickly realised her knack for Recruitment and sponsored her to stay. Jo then went on to work in further account management roles for two notable agencies wearing many hats.
Returning home to the UK, Jo brings her vast experience from the innovative Australian market where she worked closely under well known industry figureheads to fine tune her skills. In Sydney Australia she was known as a problem solver and every companies “go to recruitment manager” and has this goal for herself here. She is a born recruiter who is still passionate about what she does to this day!
Moving back to village life and leaving behind the bright lights and beaches of Sydney apparently I bring plenty of Australianisms with me! No, snakes and kangaroo’s don’t run wild on the city streets and since returning I’ve seen more spiders in the UK than I ever did down under!
