Our client, based near Kenilworth, is currently recruiting for a Business Analyst to join their team on a contract basis. The contract will be for five days a week and is expected to last for between 3 and 6 months.

This is a classic Business Analyst role, working alongside teams across various business functions to define specifications and record business and reporting requirements. The role will also support the decision making process for sustainable business solutions based on sound judgement, practicality, good practice and business knowledge.

The ideal candidate will have a solid and in-depth understanding of business analysis methodology with strong experience of effectively documenting requirements, ensuring they are fit for purpose, consistent and reflective of business needs. A personable, ‘business first’ mentality is essential to success in the role. This role will be a vital link between the business teams and IT providers, supporting delivery of business objectives.

You will be required to work closely with users to understand, investigate, and document operational and information requirements, problems, and opportunities, seeking effective business solutions through improvements in automated and non-automated components of new or changed processes. Assist in the analysis of stakeholder objectives, the underlying issues arising from investigations into business requirements and problems, and identifying options for consideration. Working iteratively and collaboratively with stakeholders, to identify potential benefits and available options for consideration, and in defining acceptance tests. Liaising with internal or external product development teams to interpret business needs in order to deliver high quality IT solutions. Supporting the business to accept and implement new and changed systems and processes.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in Business Analysis, using a range of written and visual tools to define specifications and business requirements
  • Proven experience in eliciting requirements and supporting user testing
  • Solid experience in generating process documentation to design, document and maintain system processes
  • Understanding of benefits analysis, value for money and using data to aid business decisions
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for both requirements gathering/communication and refining of key insights and findings to business teams
  • Pragmatic problem solving abilities and identification of root causes in order to make recommendations to the business and/or technical teams
  • An understanding of IT and software development lifecycles
  • Ability to produce results within specified time frames and to tight deadlines
  • Ability and willingness to work with partner organisations and external providers on behalf of business users, to optimise the integration between systems and business processes
  • Sound working knowledge of a membership or not for profit environment is also advantageous.
